Fayetteville will be overflowing with people tomorrow for the annual Bridge Day celebration so I thought, what better way to celebrate than by sharing with you our Bridge Walk tour last weekend?
This was the second time that Jon and I did the Bridge Walk (click here to read all about the engaging experience we previously had) and it was just as great as the first time! We chose the 10:00am tour in hopes it would still be foggy (makes for awesome pictures!) but by the time we arrived, the fog was clearing and we were left with spectacular views of the gorge. We lucked out and had Doug as our guide again but this time, there was a group of 10 – 15 of us instead of just me and Jon. Because of the government shut down, the Canyon Rim Visitor’s Center was closed which meant we couldn’t access the bridge from that side. So, we accessed via the Fayetteville side and we ended up walking the length of the bridge twice instead of once — so cool! Once again, we had a blast and can’t wait for the third go around!
On another note, Jon and I both now have annual passes so expect Bridge Walk recaps each season!
Until next time,
Sara (WV Travel Queen)
